These conditions include headaches, whiplash, neck pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, upper back pain, lower back pain, sciatica, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, herniated discs, arthritis, sports-related injuries, and postural issues.

During your first appointment, you will be taken through a detailed history, physical examination, and review of findings before your treatment. The specific treatment you will receive depends on your condition and personal preferences. Usually, this will include chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy, exercises, activity recommendations, and education. Your own treatment plan will vary, but it is likely 4-8 visits over a few weeks will be required to resolve your condition.

A chiropractic adjustment or manipulation is a painless and relieving manual technique that involves applying pressure to a joint to elicit a movement with the aim of restoring proper alignment, improving joint function, alleviating pain/stiffness, and enhancing the overall function of the body. The popping sound made is simply gas bubbles being formed and released within the joint due to the quick movement.

Prior to my journey as an RMT I worked in the service industry. Working with people brings me great joy and at one point in my serving career I realized I wasn’t contributing to the community in a mindful and health focused fashion. It was time for a change. learning about the body and its systems in a way to benefit the people around me was the shift I was looking for. After graduating at VCMT from the 3000-hour program in 2013 I have been consistently practicing in Burnaby. In my practice I feel it’s my privilege to facilitate a healing environment and to encourage people to incorporate health and wellness in their everyday lives. Massage is a great way to start and continue your wellness journey. From general well being, stress management, postural concerns, and restoring functional movement to aiding in recovery from whiplash, surgery, sprains, strains, and pregnancy massage, my skills are varied, and client driven. Listening to my clients and creating a treatment plan they feel comfortable with is paramount, I believe that is where the healing begins. When I’m not focusing on my practice I’m often found in the kitchen or in my garden. eating healthy wholesome food is important to me. I also like to snowboard and enjoy exploring BC’s wilderness with my husband when we have the chance.
